Singapore Christian

After my good time in Sydney I made my way up to Singapore and here I'm going to start my tour in Asia

Big buildings but no people around. Is a bit strange.

Still in construction, I think it is a modern version of the Opera House in Sydney.

Sydney big city life Chris

I'm Living at Natalies and her flatmates house. It's coming autumn into Australia but it is still nice and warm.

Update Mai 1, 2011: I have been in Sydney for 4 weeks. A lot happend during this time. I didn't come as a lazy tourist, I searched for work. But what can a Swiss guy do? First I had a big book with a lot of phone numbers for garden work, moving and other companies in it. So I called each number in the book. Some of the guys took my number some just had nothing for me. A girl in a moving company told me she may has something for me. I was searching for days without any outcome. I got depressed! I walked around and asked every Pub for a job as a kitchenhand or a glass collecter. A guy in a pub told me he will call me soon. Than it happend! I got a job as a flyer distributor. After a couple of days I was tired. I walked around 100km in 5 days. Then I got paid for the first time, (cash in hand) my boss gave me 100 dollars. I felt like a piece of shit! But than the guy from the pub (John) called me and got me a job as a kitchen hand and BBQ man. So I started in the pub where I still work and make good money. Also the girl from the moving company called me and gave me a job. I had to move furniture and other stuff. Once I got a free leather jacket for 400 Dollars as I was moving clothes. My days are quite busy now. But in two weeks I leave Australia and move on to Singapore. There I start my trip through Asia for two months. I need holidays!!!

Flyer job, afer 7 times flyer distributing I quit the job :-) I lost 2 kilos, once I toppled on the ground because there was a hole in the ground and some dogs barked at me. On this pic you can see a good letterbox with 100 single boxes, I like that! Mostly I threw a lot of the flyers in a bin and went for a coffee :-) don't tell my boss.

The Forresters Pub I work for

John and Mark on a busy friday over lunchtime

What a steak! I mostly eat one steak per shift for free :-)

I stopped counting how many kilos of potatoes I peeled.

Sometimes when I was outside the pub and grilling sausages I watched the girls passing by ;-)

On my birthday Natalie made me an apple cake.

Natalie and I went north to her mothers house. Nearby there were some Kangaroos on the field.

They are not shy and I could touch them

Hiking in the Royal National Park 30km south of Sydney

Dangerous cliffs! I told Natalie it's okay to go till the end of the rock, no worries it's safe ;-)

Natalie it's not always a competition! But for sure I jumped much higher than u :-)

ANZAC day (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Every year the people think back to their mates who died in the wars. It's a big day for everybody. All over are parades and other services. I got up at 5 am for that!

But after the parades people start to drink and play Two-up is a traditional Australian gambling game, involving a designated 'Spinner' throwing two or three coins into the air. Players gamble on whether the coins will fall with both heads up, both tails up, or with one coin a head, and one a tail. It is traditionally played on ANZAC Day in pubs and clubs throughout Australia. Only allowed on this day. I lost 50 Dollars but we played the whole day and had so much fun.

People, like our friend Liesel, had to throw the coins inside a circle.

There are a lot of rules! They have to go over your heat Liesel. After 3 times wrong throwing u have to do pushups.
